I recently booked my award ticket our of EWR to TPE round trip, first class, for two all paid in URs.

IMHO if you can fly out of EWR or JFK I would accumulate (sign-up bonus + spending) Chase UR points (CSP and Ink) for transfer to your United MP account once you are decided on an award ticket. Also look at the United cards issued by Chase.
