Just make sure you use that reinforced tape to secure you boxes since you never know your boxes are going to be stacked into those baggage trolleys.

As for whether it's allowed... the better question is how much are you willing to pay?

Recently I moved with 9 boxes plus luggage and was some 200 kg over my allowed baggage, so I had to pay some $1100 in fees.
