It seems that all the people who have the 2 for 1 got this offer many years ago...I haven't heard of too many people getting this recently.

If you don't use the AE Plat anyway, then no need to have two cards then... I certainly expect my 2 for 1 deal to continue...my renewal date is in the fall so I've been paying $699 essentially since it was announced. They also sent a separate notice that said that the fee waiver for the second card would continue as long as I kept the Amex Plat.

Just weird that they would send people a fee increase notice who have a fee waiver on the card... without any notice that the fee waiver was going to end.
