We're certainly happy to have such an expensive property on pre-deval points. However, their bed sizes are not as advertised. We were initially in a "queen bed" suite. In fact, it was a double bed with barely enough room around it to get in and out of the room. We spoke to another guest who had paid $350 and was livid over being given a double bed. We asked for a larger bed the second night. We were given what they call a king bed but is in fact a queen bed.
Most of the hotels in town are old style and open directly from the room to the outside. We prefer what we have. The town is really buzzing and it's good to book restaurants for dinner.
How do you find the breakfast and evening reception?
When we were there last year, both were "meh" at best. Well, the evening reception was pretty pathetic really. Small eating area, overworked staff, not much choice.
There was a woman (with her husband, I presume, although he was rarely around for reasons that I can only surmise) who was disappointed in the "poor value" that the hotel provided; apparently, she had booked her stay on points and felt royally cheated, particularly in regard to the breakfast offerings. By about the 3rd day of hearing her daily diatribes, I started to feel sorry for her husband. Although, to some extent, I don't necessarily disagree with her comments.
Aside from the location of the hotel, it doesn't have a great deal going for it.
