to the extent the fare rules allow the connections, then the K+connections may still be cheaper than non-stop W fare. No way to make an absolute statement either way.

The routing routes for higher fare classes tend to be more relaxed than lower fare classes. Same fare classes may share routing rules but there will likely be multiple routing rules for a given city pair.
