The problem with some wireless mice is that they can be greatly affected by the wireless internet built into laptops.

The Microsoft wireless mouse (the one that works on any surface) is the best I've used, BUT... you may have to get a very short USB extension cable, so that the receiver isn't attached to the laptop body. That can help greatly with an erratic wireless mouse.
