Thanks for consolidating this. I called them up and did indeed get the same response. The rep said that the system marks this as a duplicate app, and locks it for 5 days. Until then they cannot make any changes to it, so after 5 days, their system will process them both as different apps.
Although I would still like to hear from someone who has done this before if this counts as two pulls or one.
