I wonder if using the air-conditioned underground walkway from Central Station will be more comfortable and will not take too much extra time?
If don't want to walk and on the cheap, take bus #15 on Queensway, just outside Pacific Place and alight at Exchange Square, HK$3.60, assuming OP is travelling light. Bus every 15 minutes.
Bus #621 operates during morning rush hours except Sundays, so should work for OP too. Board at same place and alight at Man Cheong Street stop to Hong Kong Station. Single fare HK$5.70.
