Well yes, thats the obvious answer.
The question was more, "why do we think its okay in today's society to use a code that clearly we're not entitled to, and while its perhaps not *illegal* its certainly against the AVIS T&Cs"?
While its not criminal theft, you clearly are 'stealing' money from AVIS because you're violating their T&Cs.
I guess its a moral issue.
