Hopefully the UAE leadership will consider a reworking of legal policy and practices so people don't have to rely upon the gamble of getting executive pardons. While the UAE leadership has its own conservative domestic popular elements to consider in attempting to formally change practice, the place would gain by not letting these kind of situations to happen repeatedly. Sometimes it seems almost like the country has a policy of wanting these things to happen so the leadership can further gain favor with foreign leadership elements by cutting special deals for some but not for all.
