Well, a friend of mine a while back got an $18/night "employee" rate from a manager of a Marriott family hotel (this hotel was scheduled to leave the Marriott family within days, though, and I don't know if that had anything to do with that offer or not). Now, this friend was not a Marriott Rewards member, but if they had been, would they have gotten night credit at
that rate?
But how low have you gotten rates negotiated? To 1/2 of the BAR? 1/3 of it*? (I've gotten LNFed down that low. I'd love to be able to negotiate a points-earning rate that low without LNFing, but I have my doubts.)
(*By 1/3 I mean LNF rates of between $50 and $60 when the original rate I reserved to qualify for the LNF was in the $160 range. By 1/2 I mean when I can only get between $80 and $90 through LNF in the same circumstance.)
