My wife and I will be arriving in PVG on SQ J with a 3hr 40min layover before our ANA J flight to NRT. From what I've read, it appears that we will need to pass immigration/customs and collect our bags before checking back in. The issue here is that she has a Malaysian passport which means she is not eligible for the 72hr visa waiver. Will she need to apply for a transit visa before we go? Or potentially could I collect both the bags and check them in myself while she remains airside? I'm also contemplating booking an Expedited Immigration Clearance service to help make things more efficient just in case there are any delays.
