Just writing the address is no longer acceptable for non-residents according to the queue gatekeepers and I doubt they are doing this just to be ornery. Some higher up bureaucrat instructed this. If you are staying at someone's house they demand the name. Once I wrote first initial dot last name and the agent demanded the first name in full.
I think writing Yokota AFB or whatever should be acceptable for SOFA people. Japanese immigration needs to bow to the higher authority on that one.
