Using a hi-output car charger (10W or 2 amps +) to keep up with the extra drain on the iPhone/iPad when running NAV/GPS apps - unless it's offline ones - especially if bluetooth on, screen staying on (same for Android devices running NAV.)

Ordinary, 5W or 1 amp car charger is fine for iPhone use while driving. Compare to graphics-intensive mobile web browsing, maps & navigation do not use a lot of data.
