The simple fact is that I should not have to ask to get an upgrade. This is a Diamond benefit and I have previously been making the good faith assumption that there was not one available or another Diamond got the luck of the draw when they were allocating rooms that morning. Its not a Diamond benefit if someone else can specifically ask for it and get it in lieu of myself or another Diamond. I am one who tries to make check-in as fast as possible because its usually be a very long day and I just want the damn keys to my room ASAP, so no I did not ask because I have obviously be making a giant assumption that if an upgrade was available, then I should be getting one and if its not, then me asking for it is a waste of everyone's time.

Incidentally, the suite upgrade feature is something that the online VIP check-in should be giving an option for. Hilton could fix this issue pretty easily if that was the case.
