I can understand why. The one that really pissed me off on here was a gold getting a presidential suite in Niagra falls. They didn't even upgrade my wife and myself at all and they are giving a lower status the presidential suite????
Sounds like if you ask they will upgrade you over a person that is more entitled to the upgrade that didn't ask. Hilton needs better controls in place like Hyatt has. A diamond who doesn't ask for an upgrade should still be upgraded over a silver or gold.
My wife is gold and has seen silvers she is travelling with get upgraded by asking when she wouldn't have received an upgrade if she hadn't asked.
A diamond should be upgraded before a gold, and a gold should be upgraded before a silver.
