The laws governing the stay are likely those of French Polynesia; it will be interesting to see what Hilton, as an agent for Société des Hôtels Tahitiens - can and will do. I genuinely do suspect it will be difficult to get out of this one, as much as I may empathize.
The only thing to try is to be persistent with
Hilton HHonors - they
may be able to persuade the property to give in, but knowing a little of the company and the owner in question (Mr Wane -
remember when he shut down the Sheraton to become a Hilton in Papeete due to labor etc. issues? ) I do not see the property as having much flexibility.
