I also looked into extending my stopover in DXB by 1 to 2 days. But I was told that changing the DXB-SEA segment would also mean that the HKG-DXB segment would have to be cancelled and rebooked -- even though I didn't want to make any change to that flight.
Of course, there was no longer any Z availablility on that flight because I'd already taken the inventory. Argghhh.
Perhaps EK stands for "Everything's Kooky?"
That's the beauty. The inventory I have is just some random routing back to SEA in September so I would have something on the books and avoid EK treating my itinerary as a one-way trip (and closing it out after SEA>DXB>SIN). When I book my return, it will be a fresh booking.
