On DL, have always noticed when it happens rather than when not. I think most often in my experience, they hold Y till BE is all off. Its a good perk, considering it saves a ton of time at immigration. A big benefit at BOM particularly, in my experience.
I haven't flown out of JFK T4 yet, are 764s boarded from 1L, 2L or both? Or is it gate dependent? I'll learn for myself in a week's time, I suppose.
