Cleveland, I only visited once.
I was born in Columbus and many of my friends went to college there and loved it. Columbus has some of the best preserved architecture in the Midwest. I lived in Cleveland for 13 years, where, despite the high crime rate and generally depressing economic conditions, I made many lifelong friends (and spent a lot of time in Italian restaurants and edgy music venues).
There is plenty to see and do in Ohio.
