I had an OK stay in April 2013. I had a paid stay and an award stay using points. Yes, Diamond status in this property means nothing, except to get a 500 GP points amenity. Luckily I did not get any rude staff or door banging. My expectations of the property were a little better than I originally thought. This property is a timeshare, mid to low and is run that way. I went there for the beach, as I don't like the busy beach in San Juan. Dorado was perfect for me, small and quiet. I went to the beach bar for breakfast. Food and service as expected, poor. But if I wanted good food, service and a posh stay I would have stay at the Ritz Reserve in Dorado, about 2 minutes away from this property.
Honestly, if I wanted good food, service and a posh stay I probably wouldn't stay in Puerto Rico at all... BUT, all I expected was decent food, service and stay which is the minimum we generally have at a Hyatt property anywhere we stay. Not crappy all the way around as this was.
