You should try and call chase to have them increase your wife's credit limit. Tell them you will be using the card a lot and will be making high amount purchases. I've done it and they doubled my credit limit.
What you can do (at least in the US) is to program multiple payments spread 3 days apart for your statement balance or your current balance. Thus, if your current balance is $3K, you could very well put in 5 payments of $3K spread over 15 days, resulting in a $12K credit.
However, I don't know if you would still hit your credit limit when trying to make the single purchase for RTW tickets.
