I love my B & R luggage. Their lifetime warranty is one reason why. They should absolutely take care of this for you at no charge. I have had my B & R about ten years now and have never had a problem with repairs free of charge. I do realize that this is the fault of the luggage handlers but good luck trying to sort through that back and forth.
