Got 2x75k Visa/ Amex in June 2011, so well outside 18+ months. Last apps were in Dec, only two cards then and nothing before that for several months. Credit high 700s.
Posted the above a month or so ago. Decided not to pursue it b/c I didn't want to risk another inq. Imagine my surprise to get an email with an approval! Got the card and verified the 50k bonus.
As an aside, my partner has an old AA pers card and was targeted for 10x on travel (including hotels, rental cars, etc).
