Airlines of Mexico, a Synopsis
A brief synopsis of the airlines of México, with links (usually to English version of website). Information previously in this post has been moved to the Wikipost at the top of the page. (Wikipost are community property, so any signed in FlyerTalk member with 90 posts and 90 days can edit or update the information in the Wikipost. Maintaining Wikiposts is not a task for Moderators, though some may volunteer to do so.)
(Note: further information can be found in FT's
Other North & South America Frequent Flyer Programs Forum
. Threads specific to Mexican airlines can be found in that forum, and if posted here will be moved there.)
Mexico has one major legacy airline since the demise of Mexicana de Aviación (MX), one minor carrier, allied with United Airlines, three international Low Cost Carriers that also serve the USA; Internet and Volaris have increased the U.S. cities they fly to in 2016 and 2017. There are some
purely domestic airlines
. Americans may access these (and the above) most often from TIJ / Tijuana International Airport for cost savings and the convenience of more direct routines. There are several regional and local airlines, not covered by this topic, such as AeroTucán, in
this thread
and Aero Banana in Quintana Roo.
