Seems as though Hawaiian is working with the FAA and Empire Airlines (they'll be operating the planes) to modify the ATRs so that flying into JHM will be possible. It's a matter of being able to extend the flaps further, to a high degree which allows for steeper takeoff and landing profiles. We could very well see Ohana by Hawaiian at JHM. It's only fitting after all, since Hawaiian Airlines built the airport back in the day.
