While setting any needed wakeup calls and/or alarm on my own smart/mobile device(s) - turned off or even unplug the alarm clock - last thing that I need is for it to go off at 3:45 am set by the previous occupants or attempt to do a reset with the blinking/flashing 12:00 (most have a battery backup, but not always)
What else do I move in the room? For a quick in-out overnight stay, I try not to move other things around. For an extended stay - probably move the sofa chair with the ottoman & sometimes the floor lamp for reading, and, possibly the work desk & chair if movable for a different view, maybe swing the HDTV around 90 degree (45/135 degree, etc.) so that I can see it from the work desk and/or sofa/lounger as I get comfortable.
Housekeeping's extra work after I checked out is appreciated & compensated/tipped accordingly as s/he has to put them back per property rules for how things should be ...
I, too, reorganize the room to suit my needs! But I'll even do it for a one night stay. I usually pull stuff out from the wall, take all the stuff out from the closet, move everything off of the bath vanity, and the list goes on. I do put it back before I check-out because I don't want the housekeeper to not put as much time and effort into cleaning the rooms because he or she has to sepnd extra time putting the room back together.
