Since you received your messages, I guess this is just somehow isolated to me.
Someone else probably got your confirmation email. I received someone else's confirmation recently. I was told by the agent when I called to inform them that their new system lets this happen if they are not careful about closing one client's account before taking another call. I can now, if I wish, alter that person's seating or even cancel their flight. I notified Delta but they have yet to respond to my email.
