How much time is lost with a stop? What's more value to you, time or upgrade? If 200 other people can do E and E+ I think you can to, if you really need to be there at time X?

The question you should ask yourself and not FT is should I fly with a stop for Upgrade chance near 100% or get to my destination quicker in E+ with some chance of Upgrade. Something like that. If you need FT therapist to justify the longer layover for your comfort then I say stop at ORD. This is a question you really should answer on your own IMO.
