Why would US do that voluntarily? Star is a better alliance. I think US would only move to Oneworld if it was necessary to get the AA merger approved.

(1) Existing AA flier. Their FF program and partners would not likely change and they'd get a bigger route map and a lot more Northeast U.S. access.

(2) Someone in one of those small Northeast airports who may like the US FF program but may get a bigger benefit out of the AA route map.

Philly really *should* get dehubbed. Not sure if PHX would get dehubbed though. Seems like that'd still be a good place to hub unless LAX has a ton of room to expand the AA presence.
