I think it's more of a burn-out issue, which seems much more likely in an older FA (try working almost any job for 25+ years!). Sure, there are wonderful FA's of all ages, and I've had some great older ones. But, it seems to me that United should pay more attention to drumming out the FA's of any age who clearly no longer enjoy their job, and offer them non-customer-facing roles (or a buy-out). It's maybe only 20% of the ranks, but that 20% can and is really hurting the reputation of the UA FA's in general.
