Bumping a really old thread, but an email from Ooma took me by surprise - they are offering me a "special offer" of $99 to upgrade my original Ooma to the "new and improved" Telo for just $99 (the same unit costs just $129 at Costco with lifetime free phone) - BUT only if I start to pay taxes ($6.79/month in my area).

Do they think I am totally stupid or something? Hopefully nothing will ever happen to my poor Ooma, or my "lifetime free" phone service will suddenly start costing more than I bargained for.
