Temporary Aircraft Substitutions For United's B787 Flights

Aircraft substitutions for the B787
United continues to work with the FAA and Boeing to address issues covered by last week’s Airworthiness Directive for all B787s, we are adjusting our published flight schedules that show alternate aircraft in place of our six B787s for a limited period. We will return our B787s to service as soon as possible after the issues outlined by the FAA are resolved. The safety of our customers and our co-workers is our first priority.
Network Planning and the Network Operations Center (NOC), are implementing aircraft substitutions to cover the flying that was scheduled on the B787. The substitutions are in the process of being loaded into the reservations and crew scheduling systems for flying scheduled through February 15. The aircraft substitutions will include:
 LAX–NRT will fly using a S-UA B777.
 IAH–HNL will change from a S-UA B777 to fly using a S-CO B767-400.
 IAH–LOS will fly as a S-CO B777.
 IAH–GIG will change from S-CO B777 to fly as a S-CO B767-400.
 EWR–FRA will change from S-CO B767-400 to fly as a S-CO B767-200.
 Domestic segments scheduled with the B787 will instead be operated by a variety of S-CO aircraft.
