It would be difficult to achieve OW status that would give you lounge access if mainly flying domestic economy in Australia, if there were a few long hauls in business its possible.
I would say your options are between Qantas and AA, with Qantas being good in that you will get 100% miles and guaranteed 1000 points per flight, even on the cheapest economy ticket.
