I stay regularly (nearly every month) at the Marquette. It's our favourite Hilton in downtown Minneapolis. If you're going in the winter then its conveniently connected to the Skyway system next to Nicollet Mall which means you get about most of downtown and all the shops without stepping out "into" the freezer outside.

The Alcove (corner) rooms are really very spacious and you can get two connecting alcove rooms for a family which would be very comfortable. Breakfast in the executive lounge is okay with some warm dishes and all the standard offerings. If you want something more you can pay for breakfast at the restaurant downstairs and they have some nice food there.

The doorman, Kyle (maybe Cyle) is very helpful at getting restaurant reservations in the area.

Overall I would highly recommend this hotel although I have never been there with the family.
