I was not aware that I could not transfer UR to UAL miles if I did not have the Preferred card. So I mistakenly downloaded to the Sapphire Card with no fee. Now i discovered my error. Is my only option to go back and open the Preferred card and pay the $95. I was concerned with preserving my UR points and did not ask about transferring the points. From what I am reading I am thinking I can not try to open another Sapphire Card with a bonus and if I cancel the no fee Sapphire card I lose the points. True? I know I can always spend them but I really want them in my UAL account. Suggestions? Thanks.
