Suite Occupancy - The Rules?

Hi All,

I am a concierge member, in 2012 I stayed in suites in New York, Istanbul, London and many places around the world - I would always call or email the hotel to confirm a suite after booking, I had +90% success.

I would always book a double room and on occasion my girlfriend would travel, in New York I had a couple of friends with me. Gran Canaria (highly recommended hotel!) gave me a two bedroom suite so I took 4 friends along.

I just booked a double room in Budapest, emailed the manager who confirmed a suite with a king size bed and sofa bed. However, the two additional people need to pay €30 person / night - it would actually be cheaper for them to book their own room.

Is this correct or should I dispute?

Does anyone know the formal rules??

Thanks
