look at the aurora forecast maps here. look for places within the green band at activity level 1 or 2 - those places are the most likely to have visible aurorae on any given night.

keep in mind that the aurora is an upper atmosphere phenomenon that is chiefly influenced by solar activity, and cannot be predicted very far in advance. winter is the best time of year (longer nights, and colder air means less lower atmosphere disturbances).
