I know I won't see much of a difference -- and after Mar 2014 I will be dropping from Diamond to Kettle.
I don't get upgrades (at least in the US) because I ask for smoking rooms.
My two benefits are breakfast and free internet -- and if I stay in quite a few hotels breakfast is free for everyone and should I decide to go to a Hampton Inn, the internet is also free.
(I am always fascinated by the fact that the more that you pay for a hotel, the fewer freebies it gives you.)
