Ditto ... I can understand OP frustration but that is the hazards of a missed/canceled connection during peak travel days. And given that it is weather related PAX are at the mercy of the airlines.
To the OP what do you expect the airlines to do in such cases? Bump other people with confirmed seats off flights ? If one thinks about it for even a few minutes such an approach would create an even bigger domino affect problem. As such, those who are coming from misconnects/canceled flights remain in limbo until seats are found and those with confirmed seats fly - luck of the draw.
