Great solution, don't know why I didn't think of that.
I don't mind my luggage being abused, in fact, i expect it to be abused, I guess I do mind however the marks/dents that the abuse is going to leave behind, especially on a (brand new) matte black aluminium case. I can't help but thinking about those marks/dents.
Probably a another way for me to look at the marks/dents on the case is that those marks/dents are a "badge of honor", I read on another forum it being said like this "
...somehow the dents in the aluminum simply give it character"
However, I am afraid of my alu case coming off the carousel looking like
this,
this,
this or
this.
Polycarb luggage seems to offer somewhat of a compromise between relative good looks along with the ability to take repeated abuse (from baggage handlers)
I get the impression that these alu cases are great to look at but not really practical to stand the abuse that they will have to go through. Of course though, if you are travelling on a private jet, luggage abuse probably won't be an issue.
Do these alu cases actually stand the test of time and travel?
