Diamond will be in three sub tiers at 15/60/80,000 tier points.

My take it that most diamonds will see their benefits reduced while, those at the upper levels may receive some increased benefits, though with great play requirements.

Seven Stars will now start at 150,000 tier, for $750,000 play.

The idea seems to be to eliminate the many (in relative terms) people would just are able to earn the 100,000 credits, the cool half million of play.

To put this in perspective, under the current program at 120,000 you got a second Seven Star enhancement trip, now you won't even be a Seven Star.
Can you tell me about the 120,000 "second 7* enhancement trip", I've never seen any reference to that perk? At http://www.sevenstarsinsider.com/ I don't see this mentioned either.
There is a 7* Level I, for reaching 125,000, but that perk gives you two $500 shopping sprees, one in AC on the Pier Shops and one in LAS at the Forum shops in CP.
They were running a match 5000 tier point promo nationwide for the month of December, which would make attaining 7* (or one of the Levels a bit easier).
Assuming they don't do this again to help boost tier points, getting 150,000 might prove much more difficult.
PS: With the casinos in AC, which have been earning less than ever due in a large part to hurricane Sandy, Pennsylvania's legalized gambling and the casino at Aqueduct drawing more business than any of the AC casinos, I think raising the tiers requirements is a big mistake on Harrah's part.
