Fred - correct, of course - my bad. I think I'm mentally attuned to avoid anything that is less than 100% miles! To clarify for others, although it's full EQP, that's only on the miles earned so it's effectively 50% again.

The big drawback of the AA program is the lack of any codeshares on flights to/from SWP/Asia/Europe. Once upon a time, AA announced it was going to codeshare on the BA flights to Asia/SWP but it never happened. Currently, AY codeshares on CX and AY flights via HEL are probably the best options for getting 100% miles on discount economy tickets to/from SWP/Asia/Europe ... unless you have other suggestions?
