This was new to me
Also the agent I was speaking to also said that subsequent sectors after the initial one cannot be left open dated.
Both of the above really surprised me as I can't find any trace of them on the OW website under the RTW tool.
Did something change or have I been given wrong information do you think?

Current rules
For travel originating in TC2/3
Reservations for the first international flight and all preceeding flights must be made prior to departure. Subsequent segments may be open-dated. Tickets may be issued up to one hour prior to departure.
Exception:
Class
Economy
Reservations Made 22 or more days before departure
Complete Ticketing At least 21 days before departure
Reservations Made 21 - 8 days before departure
Complete Ticketing At least 7 days before departure
Reservations Made 7 days or less before departure
Complete Ticketing No later than 3 days after booking
First/Business
Reservations Made 8 or more days before departure
Complete Ticketing At least 5 days before departure
Reservations Made 7 days or less before departure
Complete Ticketing No later than 3 days after booking
The agent may have been looking at the TC1 ticketing rule, but even that doesn't require a 21 day advance purchase.
For travel originating in TC1
Reservations for the first international flight and all preceding flights are required at least 7 days prior to departure of the first flight. Subsequent segments may be open-dated. Tickets must be issued at least 7 days in advance of the first flight.
Exception:
For economy class reservations made 22 or more days before departure, tickets must be issued at least 21 days before departure.
