Full lounge access *G is only available to 35K as a add-on, where as 50K is automatically *G lounge access, so you get to free up another perk to select. I would say that's a pretty big difference. 5K you can get by taking a YYZ-LAX RT. or anything across the continent; I'd say go for it. Oh I'm sure there're eupgrade priority differences, etc.
