If someone does it as part of open jaw to save money, why should an airline go out of their way and bend the rules? The passenger is aware of the rules when they book the trip.
*shrug* I don't know...because the $50 SDC seems like a logical product for the passenger to be able to buy on that segment. Good for both DL and the flier. I don't really have a dog in the fight, but that's what would make sense to me.
