Make sure you get screenshots of the First Class statement.

Are you willing to work with them? They may acknowledge the mistake, and be willing to accommodate you on their metal in F. Maybe their problem is paying AC for F, and a compromise solution would be to route YVR-SFO-HNL in F on UA.
