I understand it is a Familiarisation rate for Travel Agents and Tour operators only so I am not eligible as I work for an airline (and not in a sales focussed position).

I read on hear though that the FAMtastic rates are very good value even compared to the TVL rate which often are more expensive than normal published weekend or promotional rates.

For example the TVL rate currently for the JW in Bangkok is THB 5280 which is exactly the same as the Advance Purchase public rate advertised. So why would one be eligible for points and nights and the other not?
just like with airlines - the rate charged/paid has nothing to do with eligibility to earn credit in a loyalty program...the fare code or rate program is the determining factor
