Fortunately, I expect that FEMA director is more in line for DHS Secretary than Pistole. Unfortunately, that means I expect DHS to be around still.
Craig Fugate is a national treasure at FEMA and needs to stay there. If he were a political animal (which he is definitely not!), he would take advantage of the DHS vacancy and make the move to pull FEMA out of DHS.
Pissy is the wrong guy. The DHS focus is immigration. Obama might go after another unemployed border governor - Bill Richardson, perhaps. Of course, GW Bush also fits that demographic.
The good news is that any SES, including a political appointee such as Pissy, is subject to the 120-day rule. He can be gone 120 days after a new DHS secretary is sworn in. Let's hope Nappy's replacement was groped once too often by a clerk.
