And for places to stay, Airbnb, hostels.com, and couch surfing are all great if all you care about is a place to crash. Actual hotels seem to be $200 and up a night. But I'm sure you could do a credit card churn with some of the chains and stay for free (churn in a hurry, I suppose)
The Four Points by Sheraton in Dubai are nice, I have regularly stayed at the Downtown Dubai location and it is often $100/night. It can, though, climb up to $129/night - $150/night, depending on time of year.
